Dancing with Cinderella

Madeline and I attended the 2nd annual Father & Daughter Gala on Saturday. Just as she was last February,my little girl was excited for our big "date".  On the drive to the gala, she was telling me how much she loved me and how happy she was to go to the dance with her daddy.  I could not help but think to both the past and the future during that short ride to town.  It has been amazing to watch her develop into the little girl that she has become.  What does the future hold for us? What line of work will she go into?  Will she always love to go on dates with Daddy?  Will she want travel the world? Better yet, will I be able to let her travel to far away places like my parents allowed me to explore?

2013 has a lot to live up to in order to rival 2012.  Early in the Spring Madeline celebrated her fourth birthday.  Closely following this big event was summer break, vacations, a new pool and Maddox's first birthday!

Madeline celebrated her fourth birthday with a Barbie themed party.  Mamaw Salmons made this pillowcase dress for her.

Maddox was quite the attention grabber at Church on Easter Sunday in this hat and tie.

Our pool was opend just a couple weeks before Maddox's first birthday party in August.  It will surely be enjoyed for many summers to come.

Merry Christmas!  Madeline and Maddox both awoke to new riding toys on Christmas morning.

Brown grocery bag Christmas stockings

I made these stockings for Madeline's class party out of a few simple items.  The stocking is simply red and white construction paper and it is glued on to a large grocery sack.  Each year I buy stockings from The Dollar Tree but they are never big enough for all of the goodies.  I think this money saving upcycled stocking will have more than enough room!

One of the most fascinating things about having a four year old at home is watching her love of craft making.  From coloring to painting and making things with paper, her interest in creating grows each day.

A tea party on the floor of Madeline's bedroom was the perfect way to end a busy day.  It was perfect mostly because our little girl was full of smiles, compliments and happiness.
